At 9:59 this morning, my hall light flickered on and I heard the refrigerator whirr to life. I stared at the hall light, closed my eyes, and opened them again, fearful that I’d hallucinated the whole scene, or running up and down the hall the night before shouting, “lumos!” had actually worked.

I closed my eyes and opened them again. Yes, the hall light was on. I HAD POWER! Air conditioning, hot water, and a refrigerator that was cold! I will never take them for granted again!

I did a load of laundry, went to the grocery store (and bought milk… cheese… eggs!) and cleaned up the house. I took a hot shower and no longer have the Hair of No Voltage.

Good times.

I seek to live, breathe & work creatively. Late bloomer. I survived breast cancer and so much more. I will meet each challenge w/determination, badassery & sass!

  1. Yeah! I’m so glad you have power now. I’ve been keeping up with our different friends to see how things have been going through it all. Seems like God has been very gracious in the midst of what could have been a very bad situation. I know no electricity for that long would have been very stretching for me. 🙂

  2. Lumos! Ha!!Hey, just catching up on two weeks of blog reading…so happy you have lights, sorry you lost them, glad you have them again, love the pictures, stop playing with wax, use it wisely, go buy some milk, enjoy your milk…get back to work. There, I believe we are caught up! 🙂
